Rob Ryan. Perfect words

Rob Ryan seems to be the man that has words for feelings and moments that i just cannot describe. If only all men had a way with words like him.
I need need need one of his lasercuts or papercuts. They are just so beautiful to look at and so poetic and romantic to read. Never fail to make me smile.

Here goes...

So, i thought i'd give blogging a go.
I don't really mind or not whether people actually read it, it's more for me. To get things down on a virtual bit of paper. It may seem a bit random, a bit rubbish, but it's things i like, and you might like them too. I love travel, and i love design, both in the broader sense, i also love writing, so this is my outlet, and whether it works or not remains as yet unknown!

So this is the first one of my likes. Lakka bay, Paxos, Greece, and possibly my favourite place on earth. Words cannot even begin to describe the somewhat ethereal beauty of the aquamarine bay, with it's two quiet pebbly beaches, and it's sleepy but smiling town crawling up the hill behind it. To me it is perfection in every sense. I spent two weeks there with my family when i was 9, and two blissful weeks there in June 2009 with my boyfriend. This quiet corner of the earth makes me feel totally and utterly content. The harbour is lined with a small collection of restaurants, there are hardly any shops, and there is hardly any traffic. It is not somewhere for people looking for sophistication, smart restaurants and boutique hotels. To me it encapsulates life's simple pleasures, empty clean pebbly beaches, crystal clear turquoise water, the smell of pine trees, and a salty breeze, simple restaurants serving fresh local food, smiling locals drinking coffee, everything calm and peaceful and utterly charming.
